Denmark, ca. 1960s. A striking dining table by Henning Kjaernulf for Vejle Stole Møbelfabrik. Features rosewood construction with a bevelled rectangular top supported by sculptural tapered legs. Clever self-storing draw-leaf can easily be extended from each side, which allows the table to seat anywhere from six to ten dining companions. Beautifully integrated leg/apron joint detail, dramatic graining, and high stretchers enhance both the form and function.
Professionally refinished, the condition is excellent. Purportedly from the Spanish consulate in Chicago.
Dimensions: 62” long x 35.25“ wide x 28.5” high; measures 103” long when both 20.5” leaves are extended.
