Jack O'Leary Ceramic Pitcher

Jack O'Leary Ceramic Pitcher
$750.00
USA, ca. 1970s. A sophisticated studio ceramic pitcher or ewer by American potter Jack O’Leary (1918-1982) for Tariki of Meriden, New Hampshire. Featuring stoneware construction finished in a matte, speckled ochre glaze. A classically inspired form with an ovoid body and tapered neck coming to a flared spout - recalling an ancient Greek flagon or oenochoe (wine jug). Deftly applied handle and thumb-rest add to the modernist appeal. Scarce, signed, and in excellent condition.
Master potter Jack O’Leary founded Tariki in 1972. The company continues to produce ceramics and larger, multimedia sculptural works under the direction of his sons Eric O’Leary and Kevin O’Leary.
Dimensions: 6.5” wide x 6.25” deep x 11” high.
