William Wyman Ceramic Serving Dish

William Wyman Ceramic Serving Dish

$650.00

USA, ca. 1960s. A striking covered serving dish by Boston artist William Wyman (1922-1980). Features handmade stoneware construction with an attractive geometric shape and smartly executed black and white banded glazes. A lovely addition to any table, this piece would also do well as a catch all for countertop clutter. Wyman began his career as a professional potter in 1953 after attending Columbia University and Alfred University. In 1962, he established Herring Run Pottery with fellow ceramicist Michael Cohen, where he created a range of functional and sculptural work. A rare form from Wyman with unusual decoration. Excellent vintage condition with chop mark to underside.

Dimensions: 8.25” diameter x 7.5” high (including lid).
