Denmark, ca. 1950s. A scarce and quite covetable JH-570 dining table by Hans Wegner for Johannes Hansen. Features a generous rectangular teak top with elegantly beveled lip supported by a sculptural - almost Shaker style - solid oak base. Clever and satisfying steel and brass arms easily extend to support one 20” leaf on either end. Leaves conveniently tuck beneath the top when not in use. Easily and elegantly accommodates eight to twelve dining companions.
The larger example of this design, which is perhaps one of Wegner’s most desirable forms. We especially love the rich color of the dramatically grained top and subtle brass hardware. Professionally refinished, the condition is excellent. JH branded mark to underside. You’ll never get out of hosting ever again.
