Arne Jacobsen Teak Coffee Table

Arne Jacobsen Teak Coffee Table
Denmark, ca. 1950s. A scarce Model 3501 coffee or cocktail table by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. Produced only from 1956 to 1963, this appealing design features a rectangular old growth teak top supported by an architectural polished steel frame. Beautifully made - and with quite pleasing proportions - the top appears to float elegantly within the base. A sophisticated example of Jacobsen’s refined approach to minimalism. Professionally refinished, the condition is excellent.
While a bit higher than the average American coffee table, we find Danish coffee tables of this period to be quite versatile. Not only are they great for entertaining, game nights, or puzzles - but the height is more comfortable for crouching over one’s laptop. They also this make great media consoles - or look especially smart at the foot of a bed piled with books.
Dimensions: 59” long x 25” wide x 19” high.
