Founded in South Gate, CA, Brown Saltman is regarded as a pioneer of what eventually became the “California Modern” movement, which brought sophisticated, inspired forms to the growing American middle class. Working with designers such as Paul Laszlo, Paul Frankl, and John Keal, Brown Saltman effortlessly combined the restraint of European modernism with the casual vibe of the Pacific Coast.
