Arne Vodder Model 227 Rosewood Extension Table

Arne Vodder Model 227 Rosewood Extension Table
Denmark, ca. 1960s. A scarce Model 227 extension table by Arne Vodder for Sibast. Features a clever and unusual design that allows the piece to transform from a traditional drop-leaf style table - as often found in a hallway or behind a sofa - to a large oval dining table fit for a holiday meal.
When the demilune leaves are raised, it easily seats four dining companions. When the first leaf is inserted, it seats six - and when the second leaf is inserted, it comfortably seats eight. Collapsable aprons to leaves not only enhance stability - but finish the overall form - while also making storage easier.
Great for those of us who live in tight quarters - yet still wish to entertain with aplomb. Professionally, refinished the condition is excellent with a rich, deep color to the wood.
Dimensions: 70” long x 41.5” wide x 28.5” high (with demilune leaves up); 114” long x 41.5” wide x 28.5” high (with two removable 22” leaves in place and demilune leaves up).
