IItaly, ca. 1970s. A stylish cane and bamboo cabinet by Italian designer Flam Sansoni for manufacturer Dal Vera. Featuring natural bamboo trim and woven cane panelling with blond wood interior. Cabinet doors open to two ample storage compartments, each with an adjustable shelf. Recessed brass campaign pulls add visual interest to clean modernist lines and tonal materials. An exceptionally versatile piece–it would serve nicely as either a cabinet, sideboard or media console. Professionally refurbished and in excellent vintage condition, retaining warm age-appropriate patina.

Founded in the Veneto region of Italy in 1884, for nearly a century Dal Vera was known for producing extensive collections of finely crafted living and dining room furniture. During the peak of mid-century Italian modernism, Flam Sansoni served as principal designer for most of Dal Vera’s output throughout the 1950s to 1970s. Sansoni was integral in developing the company’s post-War aesthetic and characteristic use of materials, in the Bohemian Riviera style.
