USA, ca. 1960s. A unique open frame lounge chair very much in the style of master woodworker Sam Maloof. Features handmade walnut construction with high, spindled back, organically curved arms, and simple tapered legs. Thoughtfully executed with a form that very much brings to mind Maloof’s Hueter Chair, which he first made in 1954 for artist and friend Jim Hueter. Freshly upholstered in a handsome olive wool plaid from Paul Smith.
Stylish and soulful - the condition is excellent.
