USA, ca. 1990s. A striking stoneware “Chan” garden stool by Eric O’Leary for the Tariki Studio of Meriden, New Hampshire. Features handmade slab rolled construction with a pleasing architectural form. Finished in Chinese copper red with cobalt, rutile blue, and ochre. A great example of a collectible design that would be perfect on a porch, patio, or as even as an accent table.
A nearly identical bench can be found in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Condition is excellent.
