Denmark, ca. 1950s. An early occasional stool by Mogens Lassen for cabinetmaker K. Thomsen. Originally designed in 1942, this now iconic form was featured in the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition of the same year. Inspired by the traditional wood stools of shoemakers, it effortlessly showcases craftsmanship, simplicity, and the natural beauty of its teak construction. Features an organic semi-circular seat with rich graining supported by splayed tapered legs.
A scarce, sculptural, and lovely object. Condition is excellent.
