USA, 1960s. An early Womb Chair with ottoman by Eero Saarinen for Knoll. Comfortable and elegant with a now classic, enveloping form. The fiberglass shell is supported by a durable black enameled steel frame with sturdy yet slender tapered legs. Both the chair and ottoman are in excellent structural condition.
Since the upholstery is ready for replacement, however, this is a great opportunity to customize and restore a solid vintage example of this collectible design. RESIDE can easily facilitate this process, working with our experienced vendors.
Dimensions: 40” wide x 34” deep x 35.5” high (chair), 25” wide x 20” deep x 16” high (ottoman).
$4,800 as is - original ivory wool upholstery is worn and there is a split seam to ottoman cushion, so it’s crying out for an upgrade. Frame and metal bases are sturdy and in overall excellent vintage condition with an attractive patina.
Refurbished Pricing:
$7,800 upholstered with new high density foam. Client provides 9 yards of approved material. This will also include light cleaning and polishing of metal bases.
