Italy, ca. 1970s. A rare Model S3 floor lamp designed by Paolo Tilche for Sirrah of Bologna, Italy. Introduced in 1972, it features a spherical aluminum shade supported by a heavy chromed steel cantilevered base. Fully adjustable, the shade cleverly opens from both top and bottom - it can also rotate for maximum effect. Robust ball joint allows arm to swing in various directions. Minimalist and sleek, the condition is overall excellent with original foot switch and honest patina. Functional sculpture at its best.
