USA, ca. 1970s. A bold lithographic poster from the 1974 opening of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC. Features Kenneth Noland’s (1924-2010) Beginning, which was originally painted in 1958 and hangs in the Hirshhorn’s permanent collection. Born in Asheville, NC in 1924, Noland is best-known for the “target paintings” that he began in 1956. Noland studied at Black Mountain College and with Ossip Zadkine in Paris. His works are on display at the Guggenheim, Museum of Modern Art, and the National Gallery of Art.

Freshly professionally mounted with archival materials in a white lacquered wood frame and UV glass. Graphic with good scale, the condition is excellent.
