Tortoiseshell Bamboo & Rattan Sideboard
Tortoiseshell Bamboo & Rattan Sideboard
USA, ca. 1980s. An impressive sideboard or console with great Hollywood Regency look - attributed to Ralph Lauren for Bloomingdale’s. Features wood construction with scorched tortoiseshell bamboo trim and geometric detailing. Fully covered in woven rattan, which adds tremendous texture and visual interest. Features two wide curved middle drawers ideal for linens and flatware - flanked by one smaller drawer on each side. Cabinet doors open to reveal generous space perfect for glassware, serving pieces, etc. Lightly refurbished with a crisp, clean look, the piece is in excellent vintage condition.
A versatile form that can easily be integrated into a wide range of interior styles. We think it would make an especially handsome home bar.
