Ib Kofod-Larsen Teak Secretary Desk

Ib Kofod-Larsen Teak Secretary Desk
Denmark, ca. 1950s. A scarce secretary desk by Ib Kofod-Larsen for P. A. Pedersen. Features teak construction with an attractive silhouette and comfortable scale. Slanted front drops down to reveal a deep work surface with cubbies, stationary shelves, and three small storage drawers. Middle compartment opens to reveal a small vanity mirror. Two wide lower drawers are each finished with distinctive ribbed pulls. Sculptural flared and angled stretchers are indicative of Kofod-Larsen’s thoughtful approach to design.
A classic and useful form, this model was rarely imported into the United States. Lightly refurbished and in overall excellent vintage condition with a warm tone to wood surface. Original key present.
Dimensions: 39.5” wide x 20.5” deep x 45.5” high (closed); measures 32.5” deep when open.
