Denmark, ca. 1960s. A rare high chest or wardrobe by Arne Vodder for Sibast. Features sturdy teak construction with elegant book-matched tambour doors that open to reveal generous storage. Four deep drawers are each finished with Vodder’s signature curved front - while five pull-out shelves allow for easy access. (Clever back rail to each shelf prevents items from slipping backwards.) A sophisticated design with all the hallmarks of Vodder’s refined sense of minimalism. A perfect addition to any bedroom, this piece would also do well in a dining room holding linens and serving pieces - or in a office to contain books, paperwork, etc. Professionally refinished, the condition is excellent.
