Denmark, ca. 1950s. A lovely pair of armchairs by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Niesen for Søborg Møbelfabrik. Each features solid teak construction with elegantly curved backs - finished with a finely carved top lip. Gently rounded arms echo this detail and provide a pleasing contrast to the angled stretchers below. Original hand woven paper cord seats enhance the overall organic design. Lightly refurbished to preserve patina, both chairs are in excellent vintage condition with appealing and honest age. An inviting form that effortlessly blends modernism with craftsmanship.
Perfect as end chairs for a dining room table, desk chairs, or even occasional living room seating.
