Denmark, ca. 1960s. A rare pair of Model 121 - or Paper Knife - lounge chairs designed by Kai Kristiansen for Magnus Olsen - retailed by Domus Danica. Each features a sculptural solid teak open frame with reversible seat and back cushions. Referred to as the “Paper Knife” chair due to the elegant thin edge of the armrests, the form is also enhanced by nicely tapered legs and slatted backrests. Matching ottomans are difficult to find and are not only great for reading but can pull double duty as overflow seating.
Teak frames have been professionally refinished and present beautifully. Vintage ivory wool cushions have been cleaned and present well despite some sun fading. A perfect candidate for customization, RESIDE can easily facilitate new upholstery and fill for an additional charge. (Buyer provides fabric.)
