USA, ca. 1820s. A handsome pair of Federal side chairs with hand caned seats - most likely from New England. Each features sturdy tiger maple construction with elegant saber legs and a front stretcher that softly echoes the curved backrest. Lightly refurbished and in excellent antique condition with a rich luster to wood surface.
These would be a fantastic contrast to something like a small Saarinen tulip table or contemporary glass and metal piece. They would also be perfect as a decorative element to anchor, hallway, foyer, or flanking a console table.
