USA, ca. 1970s. A large architectural vase by Northampton, MA artist Leon Nigrosh (1946-2008). Features ceramic construction in a slab-built square shape with sgfrafitto bands - finished in an attractive white glaze. Well executed with an appealing scale perfect for a dining table or coffee table. In excellent vintage condition with signature to underside.

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Nigrosh earned his BFA at the School for American Craftsmen at the Rochester Institute of Technology. A teacher of ceramics, photography, and drawing, he published textbooks on the subject of pottery and was a contributor of art reviews to various local magazines.
