$375.00

USA, ca. 1950s. A lovely studio vase by New Hampshire potter Gerry Williams. Features earthenware construction with incised spiral decoration to body and long ribbed neck. Williams chop mark and signature to underside.

A conscientious objector during WWII, Williams originally discovered pottery while living in Maine. With his wife Julie, he founded Studio Potter magazine in 1972. Williams’ refined and thoughtful work is included in the collections of the MFA, Boston, the Currier Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Crafts, and others.

An early piece by Williams, the condition is excellent.
