USA, ca. 1960s. A Model M218 table lamp by Jane & Gordon Martz for Marshall Studios. Features a subtle matte green glazed ceramic body fitted with turned walnut fittings and signature wooden finial. Perfect as a bedside lamp - or atop a console, sideboard, etc. Professionally rewired and fitted with brown silk cords and natural linen shades, the condition is excellent.
A true family affair, Jane & Gordon Martz met at Alfred University, where they both studied ceramics. Jane’s parents owned and operated Marshall Studios of Indiana, which her grandmother started in 1922. Together, Jane and Gordon embraced modern design and offered a sophisticated product line that perfectly complimented the growing style’s furniture.
